Title: Elastic structure of Earth obtained from dispersion analysis of surface waves.

Objectives: The determination of new structural features for the crust and upper mantle are the principal objective of these studies. This objective will be achieved using several filtering techniques and the inversion method, applied to the surface-wave dispersion.

Objectives: The crustal and upper mantle anisotropic structure is the principal objective of these studies. This objective will be achieved by means of an inversion process, performed in accordance with the generalized inversion theory, in which the azimuthal variation of surface wave velocity is considered.

We take into account surface waves propagated across a welded vertical contact (between two layered media), with normal incidence at this interface.

Distance and azimuth

This computer program has been developed to calculate the distance and the azimuth for two points over the earth, considering the earth like a sphere.

Geodesic lines

This computer program has been developed to calculate the geodesic lines of the revolution ellipsoid, defined by the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS80). The distance and azimuth are also computed for each geodesic.

Digital filtering: high-pass, low-pass and band-pass

Computer program for digital filtering of time series by means of the high-pass, low-pass and band-pass filtering techniques.

Displacements, velocities and accelerations converter

Computer program to perform the the conversion between time records of displacements, velocities and accelerations.

Instrumental response

Computer program to perform the instrumental correction in seismic records.

Computer program for digital filtering of surface waves registers by means of the Multiple Filter Technique (MFT).
